       On this page i will tell you about updates which i do whenever i have added something knew or when i have some new        

               information about Mikkeline.

• Monday February 19th Mikkeline is BACK  !! She won her first competition she entered after taking time off to find joy in her sport again.Mikkeline won the Nordic championships beating skaters such as Klara Bramfelt on the way. Right now Mikkeline is still struggling with a hip injury which means she can only do triple salcows and triples toes along with double axels until her hip is healed.She hopes to have her other jumps back before the world championships.

• Sunday February 11th There are new OFF ICE photos and a new JUNIOR WORLDS photo section !!!!

            So far Mikkeline is on the list for the world championships in March but there may be a chance she will pull out as she has had

        to do at europeans and the grand prix events because of injury and illness but hopefully she will be able to attend.

• Tuesday January the 30th I found this article on mikkelines choreographer.

• "Esa Alanne took his MA degree at the Theatre Academy, in the Department of Dance, in 1991. The following year he moved to Denmark, and has since performed with all the major Danish dance groups and choreographed several performances, including some for theatre and opera. He teaches at each of the three state-owned theatre academies, and additionally, works with the 15-year-old figure skater Mikkeline Kierkgaard, who shows great promise in the field in Scandinavia. “She happens to be the only one to perform triple jumps in Denmark,” says Alanne proudly. He also works as a choreographer and artistic assistant for Team Denmark, the Danish equivalent of the Finnish Olympic Committee; their sights are set on a medal in the 2002 Olympics. "

• Friday January the 19th Once again Mikkeline has had to withdraw from the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS due to illness.There is no skater representing denmark as far as i know. Hopefully she will be well enough to skate in the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

• Tuesday January the 16th Unfortunetely due to illness Mikkeline has been forced

        not to compete in the DANISH NATIONALS and defend her title. The new Danish

        Champion is Rikki Pederson.

        I found this piece written on Mikkelines world Championships qualifying performance.

                "Fifteen year old Mikkeline Kierkgaard (DEN) finished second in the group in

                her World Championships debut. She made an impression at the European Championships in Vienna,

                where she finished seventh, the best placement in history for a Danish lady skater in an ISU Championship.

                Skating to music by Saint-Saens, she included five triples (but no Lutz or flip). "

• Friday January 5th Mikkeline has been included in a vote for the most graceful

• Saturday December 10th I found this quote about Mikkeline about her performance

at Junior worlds "Mikkeline Kierkgaard from Denmark wow!! She has such a high

performance level but she is going to have to produce the triple lutz

at some point to crack the top group. Today she doubled it "

• Saturday December 9th Mikkeline skated on December the 6th in a show in

Frankfurt. She skated to the Olsen Brothers {who won the eurovision song contest}

• Tuesday December 5th I have added a new photo to the europeans

section. Skate Canada Finals took place on the 5th of November

and are being shown on Eurosport in the UK on Wednesday the 6th

   December at 7:oopm {UK time} The US will already have seen this.

  {unfortuneltely Mikkeline had to miss this event probably due to the injury she

sustained at The Finlandia Trophy in October this year}.
